A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear PSIP Members,

I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the Board of Directors, to thank you for your continued support of the Pittsburgh Society of Investment Professionals. We are entering this New Year with great momentum after a very successful 2020, in spite of a global pandemic. Our success in 2020 is all thanks to you and your unwavering dedication to raising funds for local children’s charities.

Thanks to the generosity of our members and corporate sponsors, in 2020, the PSIP donated $12,500 to Veteran’s Leadership Program. This program helps children and their parents who are Veterans of the Armed Forces who are struggling financially, are homeless, or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. They assist Veteran families find housing, child care, funding for utilities, and transportation. Last year we were also able to donate $3,000 to Foster Love Project, $3,000 to Jeremiah’s Place, and $1,500 to support the Goodfellows’ Toy Fund.

We were also able to continue our tradition of awarding a college scholarship. We were honored to present the $2,000 scholarship to Michelle Yakim.

In that spirit, we are thrilled to announce that the Children, Youth and Families Program through the Veteran’s Leadership Program of Western PA has been selected as the 2021 Children’s Charity again this year.

In addition to our philanthropy, the PSIP takes pride in its aim to provide strong education and networking opportunities for our members. In 2020, we featured credited speaking events and the organization will expand the number of these events going forward. We plan to continue to hold education events throughout 2021.

Thank you again for your participation and support. I look forward to seeing everyone in the near future!

Sincerely,

David Alderson, President
